If you've been looking for a new recipe to try, the Asian Fusion Flank Steak and Pasta Salad is right up your alley. The ingredients are filled with unique flavors that merge in such a way that you will surely be delighted.

Begin crafting this delicacy by marinating the following into the flank steak: 6 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red pepper paste), 3 tablespoons mirin, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil, 4 garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon fresh chopped ginger. Mix these in a blender until they become a smooth puree. You'd require one 2-pound flank steak and 1 tablespoon canola oil for this. Pour the marinade into a large resealable plastic bag and put the steak in it. Make sure it's sealed tight and leave it to marinate in the fridge for about 2 to 6 hours. Do remember to let it back to room temperature about 30 minutes prior to cooking.

While your steak is marinating, you can get started on the pasta salad. Boil a pot of salted water and cook 1 pound of fusilli until it’s al dente. Rinse the pasta under cold running water and once it’s cool, drain it thoroughly.

Next, whisk together 1 cup of mayonnaise, 3 tablespoons of gochujang, and 3 tablespoons of fresh lime juice in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Mix the well-drained fusilli into the blend. Now heat up a large cast-iron skillet and apply 1 tablespoon of oil lightly onto your vegetables: 1 medium zucchini and 1 medium yellow squash, both sliced lengthwise, and one 8-inch-long slice of pineapple. Grill them over medium heat until they’re slightly charred and tender, which should take around 8 minutes. Once cooled, dice the grilled veggies and fruit into half-inch pieces and add them to the pasta. Mix in thawed peas, thinly sliced scallions, and give a gentle stir. Set this aside after mixing well and adding salt to taste.

After marinating, pan-sear the steak by letting the extra marinade drip off. Heat up your skillet and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Cook the steak on moderate heat until it reaches your desired cooking level. You can confirm the steak’s readiness by inserting an instant-read thermometer into its thickest part. Aim for 125° for medium-rare consistency, which would be 5 to 6 minutes per side. Once done, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Plate your evenly sliced steak with the scrumptious pasta salad on the side. The pasta salad can also be made in advance and stored overnight in the refrigerator. Enjoy this mouthwatering dish that masterfully combines the likeness of Eastern and Western cuisine, giving your dinner table an irresistible worldly touch.
