Korean Noodle Brand Hots Up US Fried Chicken Scene
- Nov 17, 2025
For fans of spicy food, there's an exciting development from the culinary world. Korean noodle manufacturer Buldak Ramen, recognized worldwide for their incredibly spicy noodles, is venturing into new territory. In collaboration with fried chicken chain, bb.q Chicken, Buldak will debut a spicy new creation, feeding the appetites of fiery food fans.
In an effort to combine tasting experiences, these two companies have formed a culinary partnership that marries the unmistakable burn of the Samyang-owned Buldak Ramen's famous heat with bb.q Chicken's renowned "cheesling” fried chicken. The resulting dish is a remix of two flavor sensations that have delighted clientele worldwide: hearty dairy and scorching heat.
The integrated taste profile of the dish echoes Buldak’s popular Carbonara ramen, a spicy yet creamy noodle dish. Beginning on November 10th, bb.q Chicken will feature Buldak on Cheesling on their menus. However, this is a limited-time offer, only available until December 10th, as long as supplies hold out.
bb.q Chicken, originally a South Korean brand, is internationally acclaimed for its selection of crispy traditional or boneless wings doused with customer's choice sauce or seasoning. Options range from honey garlic, gangnam-style, hot mala, or cheesling, the latter being a savory, cheesy powder. This marriage of buldak heat with cheesling is set to excite international foodies.
This exciting collaboration is part of bb.q Chicken's growing presence in North America, currently housing more than 200 restaurants. Meanwhile, Buldak by Samyang Foods has become a household essential, particularly in the heat-seeking food community. The brand's popularity has exploded over the past decade, partly due to the influence of social media platforms like TikTok.
The noodle line’s primary sauce, rich with umami, features a fusion of soy sauce and red pepper. It's an ideal choice for combating and pairing with more decadent flavors like cheese, butter, eggs, and now, fried chicken.
Data from Datassential reveals a rise in popularity for spicy food over the last ten years; almost all restaurant menus now offer some form of spicy dish, an increase of 3% from a decade ago. This trend may explain the booming sales of Buldak's products. According to The Korea Times, Samyang Foods sold a reported eight billion units of its Buldak noodles within the first six months of 2025.
Combining two distinct Korean food exports, instant spicy ramen and Korean fried chicken, this new partnership provides an approachable option for those keen on delivery, takeout or group orders. Fans of both genres will appreciate this fiery, cheesy, crispy fried chicken, filling a niche in the food market just as the weather turns colder.
