The Old Fitzgerald Bourbon, a long-standing favorite amongst whiskey aficionados, is unveiling a spring release that is expected to prompt a connoisseur rush. The unique and beautiful decanter-style bottle encapsulates the brand's highly sought-after bourbon, setting the stage for yet another eager scramble among whiskey lovers and collectors.

Old Fitzgerald stands out due to its exclusive qualities. One such characteristic is its recipe, which uses wheat instead of rye as the secondary grain, giving the bourbon a distinctive smoother, rounded flavor. The upcoming batch has tastefully adhered to these standards.

Aside from the unique recipe, Old Fitzgerald is renowned for being a bottled-in-bond bourbon. This identifies the whiskey as a product of a single distiller, distilled in one specific season, aged for a minimum of four years and bottled at 100 proof.

Each Old Fitzgerald release differs in its age statement. To be more specific, the much-awaited spring 2025 batch was distilled in 2016 and has matured for nine years.

Master distiller at Heaven Hill, Conor O’Driscoll, lent his voice to the excitement, saying, “With each release of the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Decanter Series, we aim to honor both the tradition and craftsmanship that define this storied label. The 9-year-old Spring 2025 edition showcases the richness of time, reflecting the bottled-in-bond legacy and Heaven Hill’s enduring commitment to excellence in American whiskey”.

This revered bourbon, after nine years of barrel maturation and a wheat-centric mashbill, boasts a beautiful copper color. According to the distillery, the spirit offers a harmonious blend of apple pie aromatic notes, traditional bourbon hints of caramel and butterscotch, elevated by a touch of baking spices, a hint of red apple, and a luscious creamy finish.

Beyond the unique taste, the Old Fitzgerald bottle is an embodiment of Heaven Hill Distillery’s commitment to tradition and craftsmanship, drawing much appeal for whiskey collectors. Resembling the classic whiskey decanters of the 1950s, each decanter even displays the distillation and bottling dates on the tax strip.

The news of the Spring 2025 release has stirred a sense of anticipation among bourbon hunters, who will be on their toes as the bottles start appearing on liquor store shelves in the coming weeks. The number of bottles produced remains undisclosed, indicating a selective allocation. The suggested retail price for these masterpieces is $130.
